NFRC
NFRC – National Fenestration Rating Council
The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) is a private non-profit organization created by the members of the window, door and skylight industry to provide consumers with a means to compare the energy efficiency of various brands of windows and doors. It was established to help protect consumers from outlandish advertising and false promises made by some of the less reputable window manufacturers.
The NFRC is composed of manufacturers, suppliers, builders, architects and designers, specifiers, code officials, utilities and government agencies. Standards have been determined for the U-Factor, Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC), Visible Transmittance (VT), and Air Leakage (AL). Only products that meet these strict standards are allowed to display the NFRC label. All products that meet the NFRC’s specifications have the NFRC label on them, and all ENERGY STAR rated products also bear the NFRC label. All products sold by Best windows carry the NFRC label and meet or exceed NFRC standards in all 50 states.
